Came in to the Beer Cheese Bar after a long day skiing... Despite a party of 25 in the other room, our service was pretty quick with no mistakes and the server was very friendly and accommodating. Cheese curds were good but not spectacular, burgers were excellent and enormous. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Rice Lake!

I have been coming here a couple of times a year for last 4 years. Even though I live in Atlanta, my company's corporate headquarters are in Rice Lake. Met Scott (one of the owners) on my first trip here years ago and have made this a mandatory stop on every visit to Rice Lake. Have read some of the previous reviews that complain about slow service and I just do not know what they are referring to. Service here has always been great! Even though people have come and gone over the years I have never once had an issue with service. For dinner I almost always order a steak. It is not on the menu and is served off the board as a special. 10 Oz Ribeye, mashed potatoes and world famous beer cheese soup $17. Steak was perfect. Well seared and delicious. Beer cheese soup is what this place is known for! Served with a smattering of popcorn on top, it is just a great beginning to dinner. Just enough spice, I wish I could order a large container of this and take back to Atlanta! Mashed potatoes were real! Perfectly cooked, well mashed a covered with a nice savory gravy. If I could find one fault with this place, (personal opinion) is that they close too early during the week (9pm). I am not saying that I am an expert with the local business model or demographics of the local area, but it seems that this could be a real gold mine with good food and later hours. While here on this stop, tonight's bartenders were Annie and Julie and the service was exceptional! If you are looking for a great place to eat and drink, this would be the best place to stop in Rice Lake!

I had a mushroom and swiss burger here that was so good I want to write a folk song about it. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the wait for food was reasonable, unlike how other reviewers have described. It may just be that we were there when it was slower or when they were better staffed, but I highly recommend this place based on the quality of the food and my own experience of the staff there.

My family and I stopped in for lunch we came in the back door and sat in a both waited around 5 minutes no one came to help us so I walked up to the front and saw a worker looking at her cell phone in the kitchen area she never looked up. So I went back by my family we waited another 5 minutes or so still nothing so we left and went somewhere else. By the way there is a doorbell in the kitchen when the door opens.

Mozzarella sticks are very good. Burgers are acceptable as well. Service has always been their downfall. Sitting in the bar and having the bartender serve you is the best bet.

Rice Lake isn't the place to go to get a great meal. It's a place to go to hang out with friends and family and have a solid bbq and get on the lake. It was a nice downhome restaurant. Bar in front, restaurant in back. Cool. With that said, sometimes you have to go eat. Our meal ... Dinner Salad - awful. It was lettuce with a piece of tomato. Bland. Salad dressing was bland too. Ham & Swiss Sandwich - This was pretty good. I would recommend it. Waffle Fries - Not bad. I wouldn't say no if they were on my plate. Chicken Mushroom Burger - Chicken sandwich on a hamburger bun. The chicken was fresh and pretty good. The problem was our part. We were in such a rush that I couldn't enjoy my meal.
